VidarDNS

How to Set Up VidarDNS on Android

The easiest and most secure way to use VidarDNS on Android is by enabling Private DNS, which works across both Wi-Fi and cellular connections. This method uses DNS-over-TLS for encrypted and private lookups.

Android 11 and Later

  1. Open Settings → Network & Internet
  2. Tap Advanced and then Private DNS
  3. Select Private DNS provider hostname
  4. Enter the following and tap Save: 34.58.76.115

✅ This will apply VidarDNS to all connections (Wi-Fi + mobile data). No need to configure each network individually.

Android 9 or 10

These versions don’t support Private DNS system-wide. You can still configure DNS per Wi-Fi network:

  1. Open Settings → Wi-Fi
  2. Long-press your connected network → Modify Network
  3. Enable Advanced options
  4. Change IP Settings to Static
  5. Scroll to DNS 1 and enter: 34.58.76.115
  6. (Optional) Leave DNS 2 empty or use a backup DNS
  7. Save and reconnect

⚠️ This method must be repeated for every Wi-Fi network and doesn’t apply to mobile data.
