How to Set Up VidarDNS on macOS

Before you begin, take note of any DNS addresses you might have set up, and save them in a safe place in case you need to use them later.

Go to System Settings. You can find it by pressing CMD + Space and typing System Settings.
Navigate to Network.
Select the network service (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) you’re currently using.
Click Details.
Go to the DNS tab.
Under DNS Servers, click Add.

Enter the following DNS address to use VidarDNS:

34.58.76.115

If you use IPv6, enter the following (if applicable):

Once done, click OK to save your changes.

🔍 How to Verify VidarDNS is Working

Try visiting twitter.com or x.com or instagram.com. If they don’t load, you’re good!
Use Private Browsing or Incognito mode to avoid cached results.
Want to double-check from a terminal? Run:
nslookup twitter.com

You should see a response like this:

Server: 34.58.76.115 Address: 34.58.76.115#53 Name: twitter.com Address: 0.0.0.0 Name: twitter.com Address: 0.0.0.0

If you see `0.0.0.0` — that means VidarDNS is working and blocking distractions 🎯
